Temporary Trail Closure at Errol Heights Park

Expect to see crews in the park using motorized equipment to cut and remove invasive plants between May 4th and May 26th.  This and other site restoration work will result in temporary trail closures (signs will be in place when trails are closed). Please use caution throughout the park as crews will be moving between multiple work areas.

This is part of the Errol Heights Park Site Restoration work to control invasive plants. The goal of the site restoration work is to control invasive plants and restore valuable habitat areas by planting more native trees and shrubs.

Portland Parks and Recreation Facilities Closed through March 31st

From Portland Parks & Recreation:

Out of an abundance of caution and with the health of our community in mind, we have made the decision to temporarily alter our services in response to COVID-19.

Based on the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Oregon Health Authority, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, and local public health officials, Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) is closing all of its community centers and pools, and canceling all indoor PP&R activities, programs, and rentals. The tentative reopening date for the bureau’s indoor facilities is April 1, 2020.

PP&R has monitored the COVID-19 situation since it began. We continue to be in communication with and to follow the guidance of the Oregon Health Authority, Multnomah County Health Department, and the Portland Bureau of Emergency Management regarding the situation.

CLOSED/CANCELED THROUGH March 31 −

  • All PP&R facilities: All community and arts centers, swimming pools, and sports facilities are closed through March 31, 2020.
  • All PP&R indoor programs: All indoor recreation and athletic programs are canceled through March 31, 2020.
  • PP&R facility rentals and permitted events in PP&R community centers: All indoor permitted events are canceled.

CURRENTLY OPEN OR PLANNED TO TAKE PLACE −

  • All PP&R parks, playgrounds, golf courses, trails, and natural areas are currently open. Park visitors are encouraged to follow direction from public health agencies and elected officials around social distancing.
  • PP&R outdoor activities and events with less than 250 people can go on as planned.
  • PP&R will encourage participants at outdoor offerings and events to follow social distancing guidance.

Errol Heights Park Temporary Trail Closure

Errol Heights Park Temporary Trail Closure – Expect to see motorized geotechnical boring and excavation equipment in the park on May 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd. This work will result in a temporary trail closures (signs will be in place when trails are closed) and temporary disturbance of the ground. Please use caution throughout the park as equipment will be moving between several different designated work areas. Closure at Harney Park on May 11

From Portland Parks and Recreation: 

The playground at Harney Park, SE 67th Avenue and Harney Street, will be closed for use this Friday, May 11, for geotechnical work.  This work will inform the design work for drainage improvements at this playground. Construction for these improvements will occur in summerfall 2019. The nearest playground for use during this closure is Flavel Park at SE 75th Avenue and Flavel Street.
