Dear Woodmere Families,

We hope you all are having an amazing summer. As you know, Portland Public Schools (PPS) will be holding classes virtually through at least November 5. We want to make sure kids have everything they need as we get ready for the first day of school for our 1st thru 5th grade students, September 2 and our kindergarten students on September 8.

PPS Bond Renewal Virtual town Hall

A message from Portland Public Schools

From Portland Public Schools: The 2020 School Bond Renewal virtual town hall at 6PM this Thursday, June 25. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, we are holding the meeting online only, but it will feature breakout sessions and virtual rooms. To participate, please RSVP.

Seeking SUN Volunteers at Woodmere Elementary

Interested in encouraging, empowering and helping the next generation succeed?! Schools Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN) at Woodmere Elementary School is looking for volunteers to join them in bringing fun enrichment classes for this new school. Congratulations to New Principal of Lane Middle School

Congratulations to Mike Rowell, new principal of Lane Middle School.  Previously, Mike was an assistant principal at Lane.  He was also instrumental in securing our Safe Routes to School sidewalk infill grant in 2017.

TODAY: Lane Middle School Principal Selection Community Meeting

Please read below for a change in principal at Lane Middle School and community meeting happening today, July 1st, 2019, 4:00-5:30PM.

Dear Lane Staff and Community,

As you now know, Lane Middle School will have a new principal next year. We want to invite staff, parents, and students to attend this meeting to understand the process for selection of next year’s principal and to get your ideas and input. The meetings will be led by Area Assistant Superintendent Oscar Moreno Gilson. The purpose of the meeting is to hear what you think is special about Lane and the characteristics and skills you would like to have in your new principal. The full hiring process will also be explained at the meeting. Interpreters in Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese and Russian will be available.

Portland Public schools is seeking interested and available volunteers to serve on the Community Based Interview Panel for our Principal Hiring Process. Selected members will be expected to be present for the entirety of the interview session, which includes a training session and debrief at the end. Interviews of Principal candidates for Lane Middle School will be held at the Lane Middle School Library on Wednesday, July 3 from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. Expect about a five hour commitment.

If you do not have access to a computer in order to complete the Self Nomination Form, please contact Debbie Mabe at 503-916-3051. She will enter and submit for you by gathering your information via phone.
