Green Thumb Community Orchard Work & Learn

July Topic: Irrigation, Water Management, & Fruit Monitoring
When: Saturday June 24th, 2017 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Where: Green Thumb Community Orchard is located at SE 57th & SE Cooper St. Map it!

Get outside, meet new people, learn about holistic urban agriculture, and care for a public space that provides fruit for the community, including people who are experiencing barriers to acquiring fresh produce. No registration necessary, just show up and get ready to enjoy the orchard. Projects for the day may include learning about irrigation, weeding and mulching.

Please bring:

  • water
  • appropriate clothes for the weather and working outside
  • closed-toe shoes
  • pen & notebook for learning session (optional)
  • gloves (optional)
  • your personal pruning tools (optional)

NOTE: If you bring any of your own tools or supplies make sure to mark them as your own so they don’t get mixed up with the others!
