“EXPLORING BD: Meet another multi-talented neighbor!”
Three years ago, Mayumi Hasegawa moved to Brentwood-Darlington from Tokyo with her husband Daniel and son Helio.
Mayumi works on many fronts. On one, she is, she says, a “somewhat famous” leather designer back in Tokyo.
On the home front here in BD, Mayumi makes soaps and shampoos that soothe sensitive skin. For her soaps, she grows indigo in her home garden. You may find her products here. (And also on the home front, she is a business and brand consultant whose work includes designing logos!)
In the Powell Blvd “Hibiki Wellness Center” she recently opened with Daniel, she practices Japanese energy work in which a healer directs life-force energy through a patient’s body to heal and calm. In addition to healing clients, Mayumi also teaches classes on this, where students practice on improving health and resiliency, and calm the body and mind. At the same location, Daniel teaches aikido, a form of non-competitive Japanese martial arts.
