Multnomah County Elections reminds voters that April 28, 2020 is the voter registration deadline for the May 19 Primary Election.

Oregon voters can register to vote online at www.oregonvotes.gov/register or fill out a paper Oregon Voter Registration Card available at the US Post Office, Multnomah County Duniway-Lovejoy Elections Building or Voting Center Express at the Multnomah County East Building in Gresham. The Voting Center Express will open on April 27, 2020.
April 28, 2020 is also the party choice deadline. Voters who wish to vote in the Democratic or Republican closed primary elections need to be registered as a member of that party by the deadline. Voters can update their party affiliation online at www.oregonvotes.gov/myvote. Voters — who are not affiliated with a major party — will receive a non-partisan ballot that will contain non-partisan state and local offices and measures. Voters who change party affiliation near the April 28, 2020 deadline may receive two ballots. Voters should cast the second ballot with their updated party information. Only one ballot will be counted.
Voters who will be away from home on Election Day should contact the elections office to request an absentee ballot as soon as possible. Voters can check their registration status online at www.oregonvotes.gov/myvote. Registered voters who have moved must update their voter registration information online or fill out a Oregon Voter Registration Card.
Oregon’s elections allow voters to stay at home, stay safe, and vote by mail. And thanks to prepaid postage legislation passed in 2019 — a stamp is no longer needed. Each of Multnomah County’s more than 544,000 eligible voters will be mailed a ballot beginning on April 29.
Multnomah County Elections will follow physical distancing guidelines established by the state and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at both of its locations listed below. Many voter services can be completed online. For questions, please call 503-988-VOTE (8683).
