Ride of Silence Recap

On July 23rd, 2019, dozens of cyclists participated in a Ride of Silence honoring Lance T. Hart.  Hart was struck and killed by a motorist while cycling on June 23rd, 2019 in Brentwood-Darlington, Portland, Oregon. To support Hart’s expenses, visit: bit.ly/lancehart

Cyclists placed bouquets on a ghost bike memorial for Hart at the intersection of SE 78th Ave and SE Flavel Street.

Prior to the ride there were several speakers, including Tom Meyers, Hart’s roommate, and Darla Sturdy of Families for Safe Streets, as well as representatives from Brentwood-Darlington Neighborhood Association, SouthEast in Active Motion, and BikeLoudPDX.

The Ride, hosted by BikeLoudPDX, Brentwood-Darlington Neighborhood Association, and SouthEast in Active Motion, began at Flavel Park and ended at the Brentwood-Darlington Community Center.
