Brentwood-Darlington Neighborhood Association (BDNA) is pleased to present three candidate interviews to help neighbors get to know their potential local elected officials. BDNA sent out requests to all candidates for Portland City Commissioner and Mayor and interviewed those who responded. Questions were developed from those submitted by neighbors via an online form. Virtual Candidate Interview Series for October 2020

Brentwood-Darlington Neighborhood Association (BDNA) is hosting a virtual candidate interview series! Submit your question(s) for the candidates for Commissioner, Position No. 4 and Portland City Mayor. Questions will be combined into “themes” with as many asked as possible. Interviews will be posted publicly via our website and social media in early October. Question submissions close at 7:00PM on September 19th, 2020.

Community Conversations on Homelessness with Mayor Wheeler

Mayor Ted Wheeler is convening a series of meetings across the City of Portland for community members to learn about and engage with future policy related homelessness and livability.  Join Southeast and East Portland neighbors and local businesses on Saturday, February 1 for a conversation about what we can do to help solve the homelessness crisis.

Laurelwood Center Opening Celebration August 12th!

The Foster Shelter — now known as the Laurelwood Center — is opening its doors next week! Join Commissioner Jessica Vega Pederson, Mayor Ted Wheeler, and Transition Projects, Inc. in touring the shelter, learning more about the program and volunteering to support the participants!

Event Details: 

  • When: Monday, August 12, 6:00 – 7:30 pm
  • Where: Laurelwood Center, 6144 SE Foster Road

Laurelwood will serve those who identify as female and couples, with priority access for people 55 and over, those with disabilities, and veterans.
