Each candidate chose a specific question to answer during the event and all candidates submitted written answers to every question asked by the group. See the documents below to read their unedited written responses.

The Multnomah County Chair is often an “under the radar” election despite the significant power and influence that this position holds in our local government. Our coalition has organized the forum to raise awareness of this election within our community in order to better inform their decision around this election. The forum will also offer an opportunity for the public to directly address questions and concerns to the candidates.

Virtual Candidate Interview Series for October 2020

Brentwood-Darlington Neighborhood Association (BDNA) is hosting a virtual candidate interview series! Submit your question(s) for the candidates for Commissioner, Position No. 4 and Portland City Mayor. Questions will be combined into “themes” with as many asked as possible. Interviews will be posted publicly via our website and social media in early October. Question submissions close at 7:00PM on September 19th, 2020.

Thank you to everyone who attended our event!  It was great to see so many neighbors come out to vet their potential elected officials.  If you missed our Portland City Council Candidate Debate on Saturday, April 14, 2018, you’re in luck!  Andrew from Village Portland made a great recording of the event, complete with marked time stamps to make it easier to get to the issues that matter most to you!

Events like these don’t happen overnight.  They take hard work and dedication from many volunteers, as well as contributions from the community.  Which is why we  have so many huge thank yous for this event!

Save the date and don’t be late for this candidate debate!

Join us as we host a debate for candidates for Portland City Council on April 14, 2018, 10:00AM-1:00PM at The Gathering Church (5921 SE 88th Ave, Portland, OR 97266).  Candidates for City Council Position 2 and 3 will debate a series of questions from Southeast and East Portland neighborhood associations and community groups, then stay for a casual Meet & Greet.  Light refreshments served. Supervised activity for children and ASL and Spanish interpretation provided. Neighbors from all of Portland are welcome to attend.  Doors open at 9:30AM.  RSVP to our event on Facebook to stay up to date!
