DESCRIPTION:AARP Oregon invite you to walk in your neighborhood. Our vision is to get more people walking every day for health\, transportation\, environment\, and community. Walks take place in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood in order to utilize new public investments and activate eyes on the streets for safety and connection. Walks are designed to be intergenerational and open to all neighbors to walk\, push or roll. Register for each walk on a unique weblink. Exact walk starting meet-up locations will be emailed to registered individuals 48 hours in advance of event due to the possibility of site condition changes which may make last-minute shifts in planning inevitable. We do this by informing\, engaging in and advocating for practical solutions to help people attain financial and health security and by enabling all to remain valued and actively engaged whether at work or in community.” \nThe walk is part of the Get There Brentwood Darlington activation. Get There Brentwood Darlington is a PBOT campaign to raise awareness about the recently completed walking\, biking\, and transit improvements in the neighborhood and encourage local residents to use the new infrastructure in their daily lives. Anyone can participate in the events\, but only people who live\, work\, or regularly visit the neighborhood are eligible for financial incentives; that’s because the financial incentives are intended to help people build new habits around walking\, biking\, and riding transit utilizing the newly built infrastructure PBOT added to their neighborhood.
