Walks take place in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood in order to utilize new public investments and activate eyes on the streets for safety and connection. Walks are designed to be intergenerational and open to all neighbors to walk\, push or roll. Register for each walk on a unique weblink. Exact walk starting meet-up locations will be emailed to registered individuals 48 hours in advance of event due to the possibility of site condition changes which may make last-minute shifts in planning inevitable. We do this by informing\, engaging in and advocating for practical solutions to help people attain financial and health security and by enabling all to remain valued and actively engaged whether at work or in community.” \nThe walk is part of the Get There Brentwood Darlington activation. Get There Brentwood Darlington is a PBOT campaign to raise awareness about the recently completed walking\, biking\, and transit improvements in the neighborhood and encourage local residents to use the new infrastructure in their daily lives. Anyone can participate in the events\, but only people who live\, work\, or regularly visit the neighborhood are eligible for financial incentives; that’s because the financial incentives are intended to help people build new habits around walking\, biking\, and riding transit utilizing the newly built infrastructure PBOT added to their neighborhood.

On August 27\, PBOT staff are hosting a walk that will includes stops along 52nd Ave and 46th Ave. \nSE 52nd Ave (Duke to Flavel) is a funded near-term project. Improvements to 52nd Ave include crossing enhancements\, sidewalk infill\, and wider bike lanes. PBOT staff will discuss potential design options and trade-offs and want to hear community concerns and recommendations. \nSE 46th Ave (Woodstock to Glenwood) is another priority project from the Lower Southeast Rising Area Plan . PBOT staff are seeking funding for this project. PBOT’s Safe Routes to School team is working on a sidewalk project along the north side of Lewis Elementary on Glenwood and PBOT staff would like to learn more from community members about their concerns and ideas for this area. \nPBOT also has funding to implement other Lower Southeast Rising priority projects\, including neighborhood greenways on SE 46th\, SE 60th\, SE Tolman\, and SE Steele/Mitchell. PBOT staff will be available to discuss these upcoming projects and answer questions. \nStarting and ending location: Sidewalk in front of Starlight Knitting Society (7028 SE 52nd Ave\, Portland\, OR 97206).
