One of the greatest aspects of community pride is the ability to feed itself. What separates Brentwood-Darlington from other communities is that people really enjoy gardening their land. If you ever drive, bike, or walk through, you might notice that many properties may have smaller houses but they have larger plots of land. Many of those plots have been made into beautiful gardens. When you think about it, it’s not surprising since many of these plots were once part of large orchards. This historically good soil has fostered many thriving plants…but what may not be apparent from just walking by is that the people of Brentwood-Darlington are starting to from a serious urban farming community. Lots of trades, bartering, and kindness of heart has resulted in some extremely fruitful partnerships – literally!
One of those amazing partnerships is the Brentwood-Darlington Neighborhood Farm Stand.
BDNA partnered with Learning Gardens Lab to create a way for fresh organic produce to be available for sale to our residents. All of the produce available has been grown on-site at the Learning Gardens Lab and is made available for sale weekly from the months of June through October.
We invite you to stop on by and enjoy the bountiful harvest!!!
